Description

Create vibrant, eco-friendly suncatchers using a simple bioplastic mixture that is fun for all ages.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup corn starch
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Baking sheet
  • Wax paper or parchment paper
  • Scissors
  • Cookie cutters (optional)
  • Paintbrush (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the corn starch, water, and vinegar. Stir continuously over medium heat until thickened.
  2. Divide the mixture into bowls and add food coloring as desired.
  3. Lay wax paper on the baking sheet and pour spoonfuls of the colored mixture, spreading slightly.
  4. Preheat the oven to 175°F (80°C) and bake for 1-2 hours until firm.
  5. Remove from the oven, cool completely, and carefully peel off the wax paper. Punch holes for hanging.

Notes

Add flavors or scents with essential oils or natural dyes. Use cookie cutters for various shapes.
