Description

Create stunning bioplastic suncatchers using natural ingredients for a fun and eco-friendly crafting experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of cornstarch
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon of white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of corn syrup
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Cookie cutters or molds
  • Wax paper or a non-stick baking sheet
  • Paintbrush (optional for designs)
  • Scissors (for finishing touches)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the bioplastic mixture: In a saucepan, combine cornstarch, water, white vinegar, and corn syrup. Stir over medium heat until it thickens, about 5-10 minutes.
  2. Color the mixture: Divide the mixture into bowls, add food coloring and mix to achieve desired shades.
  3. Pour and shape: Place wax paper or a baking sheet on a flat surface. Pour the colored mixture and shape with cookie cutters or create freeform designs.
  4. Drying process: Allow suncatchers to dry for at least 24 hours until hardened, flipping halfway through.
  5. Finishing touches: Once dry, peel off the wax paper and trim rough edges with scissors.

Notes

Customize with colors, glitter, or different shapes. Consider sealing with natural varnish for durability.
