Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of cornstarch
- 1 cup of water
- 1 tablespoon of vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of glycerin
- Food coloring (optional, for customization)
- Star-shaped cookie cutters
- Wax paper
- A saucepan
- A spoon for stirring
- A rolling pin (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, mix together cornstarch, water, vinegar, and glycerin.
- Place over medium heat and stir continuously until thicken.
- Add food coloring if desired while stirring.
- Once it reaches a dough-like consistency, remove from heat and cool for 5-10 minutes.
- Roll out the dough between wax paper to 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut out star shapes with cookie cutters and transfer to wax paper.
- Poke holes at the top of each star with a straw for hanging.
- Let the ornaments dry at room temperature for 24-48 hours, flipping halfway through.
