- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon glycerin
- Food coloring (optional)
- Parchment paper
- String or ribbon for hanging
- Paintbrush (optional)
Instructions
- In a cooking pot, combine cornstarch, water, vinegar, and glycerin. Stir over medium heat until thickened (3-5 minutes).
- Add food coloring to the mixture if desired and stir until evenly distributed.
- Turn the dough onto a surface dusted with cornstarch and roll it to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out star shapes and transfer them to parchment paper.
- Make holes at the top of each star for hanging using a small straw or pencil.
- Allow stars to dry completely for 24-48 hours at room temperature.
- Paint or decorate stars as desired and thread string or ribbon through the holes.
Notes
Experiment with different shapes and colors. Adding essential oils can enhance the scent of your ornaments.
