Description
Create delightful DIY aroma stones infused with essential oils to fill your space with calming fragrances.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup baking soda
- ½ cup cornstarch
- ¼ cup white vinegar
- Essential oils (your choice of scents)
- Food coloring (optional)
- Mixing bowl
- Cookie cutter or molds
- Parchment paper
Instructions
- Prepare Your Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the baking soda and cornstarch. Gradually add the white vinegar. It will fizz—this is a normal reaction. Once the fizzing subsides, stir until combined.
- Add Scent and Color: Add 10-15 drops of your chosen essential oils. For a more intense scent, feel free to add more. If you want to add color, mix in a few drops of food coloring until you achieve your desired shade.
- Mold the Aroma Stones: Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Using cookie cutters or molds, scoop your mixture and press it firmly. Place the shaped stones on the tray.
- Dry the Stones: Let your aroma stones air dry for 24-48 hours, depending on their thickness. For quicker drying, place them in an oven at a low temperature (around 200°F or 93°C) for 1-2 hours.
- Final Touches: Once dried, carefully remove the stones from the molds. Store them in a cool, dry place until you’re ready to use them.
Notes
Experiment with different essential oils and colors for a personalized touch. Stones can last a few weeks to several months depending on the oil used.
