Description

A simple and delightful treat that combines the flavors of churros with the easy preparation of cruffins. Perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 to 2 cans crescent roll dough
  • 4 to 6 tablespoons melted butter, divided
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease the muffin tin really well.
  2. Mix sugar, cinnamon, and a tiny pinch of salt in a bowl and set it aside.
  3. Unroll the dough and press any seams together if needed.
  4. Brush a thin layer of melted butter over the dough.
  5. Sprinkle a generous, even layer of cinnamon sugar on top.
  6. Cut the dough into strips. Twist each strip, then coil it into a spiral and place it into the muffin cups.
  7. Bake about 14 to 18 minutes, until puffed and golden. Start checking at 14 minutes.
  8. While they are hot, brush with more melted butter, then roll each one in cinnamon sugar.
  9. Let them cool for a few minutes, then enjoy.

Notes

For a fun twist, try adding small amounts of chocolate, caramel, or jam fillings. To reheat leftovers, place in the oven for a few minutes.
