			- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix melted butter, cocoa powder, sugars, one egg, and vanilla until it resembles thick chocolate lava.
- Stir in flour, salt, and baking powder. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, cream softened butter with brown and white sugars.
- Add egg and vanilla, then mix again.
- Stir in flour, baking soda, and a pinch of salt until nearly mixed, then fold in chocolate chips.
- Dollop spoonfuls of both mixtures side by side in a lined 8×8 inch pan and swirl gently with a knife.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are set but the middle jiggles slightly.
- Let cool before cutting into bars.
Notes
Do not over-swirl the batters for the best texture. Pull them from the oven before they feel completely done for that gooey center.
