Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons Epsom salt or sugar
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • A clean jar or container
  • A spoon for stirring
  • A piece of string or a pipe cleaner (for the tree structure)
  • A small stick or pencil (for hanging the tree)

  2. Dissolve 3 tablespoons of Epsom salt (or sugar) while stirring until fully dissolved.
  3. Color your solution with a few drops of food coloring, if desired.
  4. Create a tree structure using a pipe cleaner or string.
  5. Attach it to a stick or pencil to hang freely.
  6. Transfer the hot solution into your jar, filling it halfway.
  7. Suspend the tree structure in the solution, making sure the bottom is submerged.
  8. Rest the jar in a warm and undisturbed location.
  9. Wait for 24-48 hours to watch the crystals grow.

Notes

Consider swapping materials for unique crystal formations or experimenting with multiple colors for a more vibrant tree.
