- 2 round cakes (6-inch each, flavor of your choice)
- White buttercream frosting
- Blue and white edible glitter or sugar
- Black fondant (for eyes, mouth, and buttons)
- Orange fondant (for the carrot nose)
- Mini chocolate chips (for decoration)
- Food coloring (optional, for colored frosting)
Instructions
- Bake the two 6-inch round cakes using your favorite cake recipe and let them cool completely.
- Level the tops of the cakes if they have domed using a serrated knife.
- Layer one cake layer on your cake board and spread a layer of buttercream frosting on top.
- Place the second cake layer on top and gently press down.
- Apply a thin layer of buttercream all over the cake to seal in crumbs and chill for 30 minutes.
- After chilling, frost the entire cake with a thick layer of buttercream, smoothing it out with a spatula.
- Sprinkle edible glitter or sugar generously over the frosted cake.
- Roll out the black fondant for the eyes, mouth, and buttons, and the orange fondant for the nose.
- Gently press the fondant features onto the cake and use mini chocolate chips for extra decoration.
Notes
Try different flavors of cake or frosting for a unique twist. You can also use sprinkles instead of glitter for a playful touch.
