Ingredients

- 1/2 cup Borax
- 2 cups Water
- A heat-resistant jar or container
- A string
- A paper plate or cup
- Food coloring (optional)
- Small artificial clouds (cotton balls or other decorations)
- A stirring stick
Instructions
- Boil the water to a rolling boil and carefully pour it into your jar.
- While the water is hot, gradually add the borax and stir continuously until fully dissolved.
- If desired, add food coloring and stir to mix.
- Tie the string around the small artificial clouds and suspend them in the solution just below the jar lid.
- Cover the jar with a lid or paper plate and leave it undisturbed in a warm area for 24-48 hours.
- After waiting, observe the sparkling crystals forming around the clouds and on the bottom of the jar.
Notes
Customize materials, adjust the size of your clouds, and try different colors of food coloring for varied results. Adult supervision is recommended for children.
