Description

A delightful DIY project to create stunning crystal ornaments, perfect for home decoration or gifting.

Ingredients

  • Clear glass or plastic ornaments
  • Epsom salt or sugar
  • Water
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • String or ribbon for hanging
  • Small container for soaking ornaments

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Solution: In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of Epsom salt (or sugar) with 1 cup of hot water. Stir the mixture until dissolved and add a few drops of food coloring if desired.
  2. Set Up the Ornaments: Carefully remove the top cap from the ornaments and place them in a small container for easy handling.
  3. Soak the Ornaments: Gently pour the salt solution into each ornament, filling it about three-quarters full. Allow to soak for several hours or overnight.
  4. Crystallize: After soaking, remove the ornaments from the solution and hang to dry, allowing crystals to form over several hours.
  5. Final Touches: Once crystals have formed, reattach the caps and add a string or ribbon for hanging. Display or gift your creations!

Notes

Experiment with colors and different materials for unique effects. Dust with Epsom salt for a frosted appearance.
