Description

Ingredients

  • Egg-shaped balloons or plastic egg molds
  • Borax (sodium borate)
  • Water
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Clear glass jars
  • Wooden sticks (for stirring)
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Stickers or glitter (optional for decoration)
  • Safety goggles (optional for safety)

Instructions

  1. Measure approximately 1 cup of water into each glass jar.
  2. Heat the water until it’s almost boiling.
  3. Stir in 3 tablespoons of borax into the hot water until dissolved.
  4. Add a few drops of food coloring to the borax solution and stir gently.
  5. Inflate the balloons or prepare the plastic egg molds.
  6. Submerge the balloons or place the plastic eggs in the borax solution, leaving them hanging.
  7. Cover the jars and place them in a quiet area for 6 to 12 hours to watch crystals grow.
  8. Once crystals have formed, remove the eggs and let them dry on a paper towel.
  9. Optionally, add stickers or glitter for decoration.

Notes
