Description

Transform ordinary materials into stunning crystal geode eggs that brighten your home décor and make unique gifts.


Ingredients

Scale
  • Egg-shaped balloons (or plastic egg shells)
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 2 cups Epsom salt or alum
  • Food coloring or liquid dye
  • Adhesive craft glue
  • Glitter (optional)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Wax paper or tray for drying

Instructions

  1. Inflate your balloon or prepare plastic egg shells as a base.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine hot water with Epsom salt or alum and stir until dissolved. Add food coloring.
  3. Pour the crystal solution over the egg, ensuring it coats the surface. Optionally add glitter.
  4. Place on wax paper or a tray to dry for 12-24 hours.
  5. Once dry, pop the balloon and admire your beautiful geode egg.

Notes

Experiment with different colors and shapes for unique designs. Preserve your eggs with a light layer of clear acrylic sealer.
