Description

Ingredients

  • Water
  • Epsom salt or Borax
  • Pipe cleaners (floral shapes recommended)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Small heat-resistant container (for boiling water)
  • Spoon (for stirring)
  • Craft tray or wax paper (for drying)

Instructions

  1. Twist pipe cleaners into your desired flower shape.
  2. In a small heat-resistant container, boil water, being cautious.
  3. Slowly add Epsom salt or Borax to the boiling water while stirring until completely dissolved.
  4. Add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture if desired.
  5. Carefully place the pipe cleaner flower into the solution.
  6. Let the container sit undisturbed for 24 hours to allow crystals to form.
  7. After 24 hours, remove the flower and place it on a craft tray or wax paper to dry.

Notes

Experiment with different materials and colors for unique designs. Sugar can be used instead of Epsom salt for a different effect.
