Ingredients
- Borax (1/2 cup)
- Water (2 cups, boiling)
- Pipe cleaners (various colors)
- Pencil or stick (for suspension)
- Glass jar
- Food coloring (optional)
- Scissors
Instructions
- Shape the pipe cleaners into flower petals or desired shapes and twist them together to form a flower head.
- In a glass jar, combine 2 cups of boiling water with 1/2 cup of Borax and stir until dissolved.
- Add a few drops of food coloring to the solution and stir if you want colored crystals.
- Tie a pencil or stick to the top of your flower structure and gently lower it into the Borax solution.
- Leave the jar undisturbed for 6-12 hours to allow crystals to form.
- Carefully take the flower out and let it dry on a paper towel.
Notes
Experiment with different colors and shapes of pipe cleaners and add glitter for extra sparkle.
