Description
Create delightful crystal Christmas trees that sparkle and add festive charm to your holiday decor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoons Borax
- Pipe cleaners (green or any desired color)
- Glass jar or container
- Stirring stick (e.g., spoon)
- Food coloring (optional)
- String or ribbon for hanging (optional)
Instructions
- Shape the Tree: Twist several pipe cleaners together to form a tree shape. A conical shape works well. Use one as a trunk.
- Heat the Water: Boil the water until it’s hot—make sure it’s safe to handle.
- Mix in Borax: Add the Borax gradually while stirring until it dissolves completely, creating a saturated solution.
- Optional Touch: If you want colored crystals, add a few drops of food coloring into the solution and stir.
- Immerse Your Creation: Place your pipe cleaner tree in the glass jar, ensuring it’s fully submerged. Use a stick to hold it in place, if necessary.
- Time to Grow: Leave the jar in a quiet place for 24 hours for crystals to form.
- Final Touch: Carefully remove the tree and let it dry on a paper towel.
Notes
Different variations can be created by swapping materials or enhancing with glitter. Store crystallized trees in a dry place to avoid dissolving.
