Description

Create a sparkling Crystal Christmas Tree that adds charm to your holiday décor. This fun craft is perfect for all ages and makes for a wonderful family tradition.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • Stick (or pipe cleaner) for tree trunk
  • Cardboard or a sturdy base
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Decorative items (glitter, beads, etc.)

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, combine 1 cup of water and 3 cups of sugar. Add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and heat until sugar dissolves.
  2. Allow the solution to cool for about 30 minutes while shaping your stick or pipe cleaner into a tree design and place it on a cardboard base.
  3. Carefully pour the sugar solution over your tree, ensuring all areas are covered. Optionally, add food coloring for color.
  4. Set the tree in a stable location and allow 24-48 hours for crystals to form.
  5. After crystals form, remove excess sugar solution and decorate with glitter or beads.

Notes

Experiment with different colors of food coloring, and try varying stick sizes for unique tree collections. Consider decorating the base for added flair.
