Ingredients
- Empty toilet paper or paper towel rolls
- Yellow or green craft paint
- Black construction paper
- LED tealight candles
- Glow-in-the-dark paint (optional)
- Scissors
- Glue stick or craft glue
- Googly eyes (optional)
- Paintbrushes
Instructions
- Prepare the Roll: Clean and remove any leftover paper from your rolls. Cut each roll to the desired height for your fireflies (around 4-6 inches tall works well).
- Paint the Base: Apply a coat of yellow or green craft paint to the outside of the rolls. Allow the paint to dry completely for a vibrant finish.
- Create the Wings: Cut out wing shapes from black construction paper. You can create various designs, so feel free to make them asymmetrical for a whimsical look.
- Assemble: Once the paint is dry, glue the wings onto the back of each roll. Position them in a way that they resemble fluttering wings.
- Add Details: Glue googly eyes onto the front of the roll for extra character. If using, add glow-in-the-dark paint to certain areas for an enchanting effect.
- Place the Lights: Place an LED tealight candle inside the roll to create a glowing firefly effect. Turn off the lights and enjoy the magical ambiance!
