Description

Create vibrant and colorful star-shaped sun catchers by melting and molding old crayons. A fun, eco-friendly craft for all ages!

Ingredients

  • Old crayons (various colors)
  • Star-shaped silicone mold or cookie cutters
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Oven
  • Oven mitts
  • Optional: Glitter or transparent craft film for added sparkle

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
  2. Remove paper wrapping from crayons and sort by color.
  3. Break crayons into small pieces (about 1 inch long).
  4. Place the silicone mold on a baking sheet and fill each star shape with crayon pieces.
  5. Bake for 10-15 minutes until crayons are melted, keeping an eye on them.
  6. Remove the baking sheet using oven mitts and let the molds cool completely at room temperature (about 30 minutes).
  7. Once cooled, gently flex the mold to release your star sun catchers.

Notes

Customize the colors and textures by adding glitter or craft film. Supervise children when using the oven.
