Description
Create vibrant and colorful star-shaped sun catchers by melting and molding old crayons. A fun, eco-friendly craft for all ages!
Ingredients
- Old crayons (various colors)
- Star-shaped silicone mold or cookie cutters
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- Oven
- Oven mitts
- Optional: Glitter or transparent craft film for added sparkle
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
- Remove paper wrapping from crayons and sort by color.
- Break crayons into small pieces (about 1 inch long).
- Place the silicone mold on a baking sheet and fill each star shape with crayon pieces.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes until crayons are melted, keeping an eye on them.
- Remove the baking sheet using oven mitts and let the molds cool completely at room temperature (about 30 minutes).
- Once cooled, gently flex the mold to release your star sun catchers.
Notes
Customize the colors and textures by adding glitter or craft film. Supervise children when using the oven.
