Create vibrant star-shaped sun catchers from old crayons, bringing color and creativity to your space.
Ingredients
- Old crayons (any colors)
- Star-shaped silicone molds or cookie cutters
- Oven or toaster oven
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper (if using a baking sheet)
- Optional: string or ribbon for hanging
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
- Remove wrappers from old crayons.
- Break crayons into small pieces, roughly 1-inch chunks.
- Place the star-shaped silicone molds on a baking sheet.
- Fill each star mold with crayon pieces, experimenting with color combinations.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven for about 10-15 minutes, monitoring to avoid overheating.
- Carefully remove from the oven and let cool completely.
- Once solidified, pop the crayon stars out of the molds.
- If desired, insert string or ribbon into the top of each star before they fully harden.
