Description

Create vibrant star-shaped sun catchers from old crayons, bringing color and creativity to your space.


Ingredients

  • Old crayons (any colors)
  • Star-shaped silicone molds or cookie cutters
  • Oven or toaster oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper (if using a baking sheet)
  • Optional: string or ribbon for hanging

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
  2. Remove wrappers from old crayons.
  3. Break crayons into small pieces, roughly 1-inch chunks.
  4. Place the star-shaped silicone molds on a baking sheet.
  5. Fill each star mold with crayon pieces, experimenting with color combinations.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the oven for about 10-15 minutes, monitoring to avoid overheating.
  7. Carefully remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  8. Once solidified, pop the crayon stars out of the molds.
  9. If desired, insert string or ribbon into the top of each star before they fully harden.
