Description
Create beautiful and colorful sun catchers using leftover crayons. An entertaining DIY project for kids and adults alike.
Ingredients
- Crayons (broken or whole)
- Wax paper (or parchment paper)
- Iron
- Cookie sheet or flat surface
- Scissors
- Star-shaped cookie cutter (or any shape you prefer)
- Optional: Ribbon or string for hanging
Instructions
- Peel the paper off the crayons and break or shave them into small pieces.
- Cut two pieces of wax paper to approximately 8×8 inches.
- Scatter crayon shavings onto one piece of wax paper and place the second piece on top.
- Preheat the iron to a medium setting and place a cookie sheet underneath.
- Carefully iron over the wax paper to melt the crayons together.
- Once cooled, cut out shapes using the cookie cutter and add ribbon for hanging if desired.
Notes
Experiment with different color themes and shapes for unique designs. Clean up is easy due to minimal mess with crayon shavings.
