Transform crayon shavings into vibrant sun catchers to brighten your space with colors.
Ingredients
- Old crayons (various colors)
- Pencil sharpener or knife (for shaving crayons)
- Wax paper
- Iron
- Ironing board or heat-resistant surface
- Scissors
- String or fishing line (for hanging)
- Optional: transparent plastic sheets or contact paper (for a glossy finish)
Instructions
- Prepare crayon shavings by using a pencil sharpener to shave crayons into small curls.
- Layer crayon shavings on one sheet of wax paper in a colorful design, leaving space around the edges.
- Seal the design by covering it with a second sheet of wax paper.
- Iron the wax paper on a low heat setting for about 10 seconds to melt the shavings together.
- Cut out shapes (hearts, stars, etc.) once cooled.
- Add a hanging mechanism by punching a hole at the top and threading string or fishing line through.
Notes
Experiment with different crayon colors and shapes for unique effects. Add glitter for extra sparkle.
