- Zest of 1 orange

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream the softened butter with ½ cup of powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the vanilla extract and orange zest until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually mix into the butter mixture until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chopped dried cranberries and nuts (if using) until evenly distributed.
- Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until bottoms are lightly golden, with pale tops.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then roll in powdered sugar while still warm.
Notes
For added spice, incorporate a teaspoon of cinnamon or nutmeg. These cookies can be frozen for up to three months.
