Description

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup milk or cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers
  • Optional: shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or parmesan)
  • Optional: fresh herbs (parsley, dill, or thyme)
  • Optional: cooked protein (chicken, turkey, or smoked salmon)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the pie crust in a pie dish and prick the base with a fork.
  3. Chill the crust while preparing the filling.
  4. Sauté any vegetables you are using to remove excess moisture.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, eggs, milk (or cream), and seasonings. Whisk until well blended.
  6. Layer sautéed vegetables and optional proteins or cheese in the pie crust.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the layered ingredients.
  8. Sprinkle fresh herbs or additional cheese on top.
  9. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly wobbly.
  10. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

You can make this quiche crustless for a lower-carb option. Consider freezing leftovers for later.
