Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until combined.
- Gradually fold in the dry ingredients, ensuring a smooth batter.
- Divide the batter evenly into separate bowls, one for each color you plan to use.
- Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl, and mix until the desired color is achieved.
- Line your baking pan with parchment paper for easier removal.
- Pour spoonfuls of different colored batters into the pan, creating fun patterns and swirls.
- Use a toothpick to gently swirl the colors together, but don’t overmix.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, decorate with your favorite frosting and edible decorations.
