- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Silicone mold or cookie cutters
- Parchment paper
- Cooking pot
- Stirring spoon
- Measuring cups
- Baking sheet
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace by covering a flat surface with parchment paper and gathering all materials.
- In a pot, combine cornstarch, water, and corn syrup, stirring until smooth.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens and becomes translucent.
- Remove from heat and divide the mixture into bowls, adding food coloring as desired.
- Pour the colored mixture into silicone molds or shape with cookie cutters on parchment paper.
- Set the molds in a warm area to dry completely (24-48 hours) and then gently pop out the suncatchers.
- Hang your suncatchers in windows or light-filled areas to enjoy their colorful glow.
Notes
Adult supervision is recommended, especially when handling hot mixtures. Experiment with different shapes and colors for unique designs.
