- ¼ cup cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon glycerin
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Wax paper
- Cookie cutters or molds
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- String or ribbon (for hanging)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine cornstarch, water, white vinegar, and glycerin. Stir over low heat until it thickens into a gel-like consistency.
- Divide the mixture into small bowls and add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl, mixing thoroughly.
- Place wax paper on a flat surface and use cookie cutters or molds to shape the colored bioplastic, making sure to poke a small hole at the top of each suncatcher for hanging.
- Allow the suncatchers to sit and dry completely for 24-48 hours, then gently lift them off the wax paper.
- Trim any rough edges with scissors and thread string or ribbon through the holes to hang in a sunny spot.
