- 2 tablespoons of corn starch
- 1 tablespoon of corn syrup
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Silicone molds or plastic cookie sheets
- Wax paper
- Paintbrush (optional)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan, mix the water, corn starch, and corn syrup.
- Heat: Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring continuously.
- Observe Changes: Watch as the mixture thickens to a gel-like consistency; this usually takes about 5-10 minutes.
- Divide Mixture: Pour the thickened mixture into separate bowls for different colors.
- Color It Up: Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix until the desired color is reached.
- Pour Mixture: Carefully pour the colored mixtures into the silicone molds or onto plastic sheets.
- Spread Evenly: Use a paintbrush to spread the mixture (optional) for a smooth finish.
- Let It Set: Allow the suncatchers to cool and set for at least 24 hours.
- Remove from Molds: Gently peel the suncatchers out of the molds or peel them off the sheets.
- Hang & Enjoy: Use string or suction cups to hang your colorful suncatchers in your favorite spots.
