Description

Create stunning sun catchers from bioplastics, ideal for artistic expression and sustainability.

Ingredients

  • Bioplastic sheets (available at craft stores)
  • Natural food coloring or plant-based dyes
  • Small cookie cutters or molds
  • Baking parchment paper
  • Hot glue gun or adhesive for crafting
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon or string for hanging

Instructions

  1. Prepare the workspace by clearing your table and laying down the baking parchment paper.
  2. Create the bioplastic base by melting the bioplastic as per package instructions.
  3. Pour the melted bioplastic onto the parchment paper and spread it out evenly with a spatula.
  4. Add natural food coloring in spots while the bioplastic is still warm.
  5. Use a toothpick to swirl the colors together.
  6. Press cookie cutters or molds into the soft bioplastic to create desired shapes.
  7. Allow the bioplastic to cool completely, typically taking a few hours.
  8. Remove each sun catcher from the parchment paper.
  9. Trim any edges for a polished look using scissors.
  10. Thread ribbon or string through the holes to hang your sun catchers.

Notes

Experiment with different food colorings and shapes for unique designs. Avoid direct sunlight exposure for extended periods.
