Description

Create vibrant and fun whole grain tortillas adorned with edible paint for a delightful meal experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • Food coloring (natural or gel)
  • Edible paint (optional, for added decoration)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and salt.
  2. Add the olive oil and warm water. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide the dough into equal portions (approx. 8 pieces).
  5. In each piece, add a few drops of food coloring and knead until evenly blended.
  6. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  7. Roll each colored dough piece into a flat, round tortilla.
  8. Cook each tortilla in the skillet for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until light golden brown and cooked through.
  9. If using, apply edible paint to the tortillas using a brush or roller for added designs and colors.

Notes

Experiment with different food coloring to create unique shades. Substitute flours as desired for gluten-free options.
