Ingredients

  • White coffee filters
  • Washable markers (various colors)
  • Small bowl of water
  • Paintbrush or spray bottle
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Black construction paper (for eyes)
  • Glue

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Coffee Filters: Lay out 2-3 coffee filters and use washable markers to color them.
  2. Add Water: Dip a paintbrush in water and brush over the filters to blend the colors.
  3. Dry the Filters: Let the filters dry completely, using a hairdryer on low for quicker results.
  4. Shape Your Turtle: Stack the dried filters and fold them to form a semi-circle for the body.
  5. Create the Flippers: Cut small triangles from another filter or construction paper and glue them onto the turtle’s sides.
  6. Make the Head: Shape a smaller piece of filter or paper into a head and glue it to the body.
  7. Add Eyes: Cut circles from black construction paper for eyes, or use googly eyes for fun.
