Description

A delightful project that allows you to create beautiful coffee filter leaves while exploring your artistic side.

Ingredients

  • Used or unused coffee filters
  • Food coloring or watercolor paints
  • Shallow trays or bowls (for dyeing)
  • Paintbrush (optional)
  • Scissors
  • String or twine (for hanging, optional)
  • Glue (optional for assembling designs)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Work Area: Set up a clean, flat surface to work on. Lay down old newspapers or paper towels to catch any spills.
  2. Dyeing the Filters: If using food coloring, mix it with a small amount of water in a tray. Dip and soak the coffee filters in the dye solution for 5-10 minutes until desired color is achieved.
  3. Drying: Remove the filters from the dye, letting excess liquid drip off, and lay them flat on a drying rack or newspaper to dry completely.
  4. Shaping Your Leaves: Once dry, fold the filters in half to create a leaf shape and cut out your desired leaf shape with scissors.
  5. Final Touches: Optionally, glue two or more filters together for added thickness or use twine to create a hanging option.

Notes

Tip: Experiment with colors and shapes for unique designs, and consider creating garlands or using the leaves in decorations.
