Description
Create beautiful and eco-friendly flowers using simple coffee filters. A fun project for all ages!
Ingredients
- White coffee filters (regular or oversized)
- Food coloring or watercolors
- Markers (optional)
- Pipe cleaners or floral wire
- Scissors
- A spray bottle with water (optional)
- Paper towel or plastic sheet (for drying)
- Glue (optional for embellishments)
Instructions
- Color Your Filters: Pour a few drops of food coloring into a shallow dish with water. Submerge the coffee filters in the color mixture, allowing them to absorb the dye. For more vibrant colors, let them soak longer. Alternatively, use markers to draw designs directly on the filters.
- Dry the Filters: Place the wet filters on a paper towel or plastic sheet to dry. You can speed up drying with a spray bottle to lightly spritz them if needed.
- Shape Your Flowers: Once dry, stack 3-5 filters together. Pinch them in the center and secure with a pipe cleaner, twisting to hold them tightly.
- Fluff and Style: Gently pull apart the layers of the filters to create a full flower shape. Bend the pipe cleaner to form a stem as desired.
- Add Finishing Touches: Use scissors to trim the edges into scallops or other shapes for added flair. Optionally, embellish with glitter or buttons using glue.
