Description

Create beautiful and colorful coffee filter butterflies, a fun DIY project for all ages that ignites creativity.


Ingredients

  • Coffee filters (white or colored)
  • Washable markers or liquid watercolors
  • Spray bottle filled with water
  • Clothespin
  • Pipe cleaners (optional for antennae)
  • Scissors
  • Small dish or tray (for drying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Set up a clean, flat surface and lay down newspaper to catch any spills.
  2. Color the Coffee Filters: Choose your colors and apply them to the coffee filters in various patterns.
  3. Spray with Water: Lightly spray the colored filters with water until damp.
  4. Dry the Filters: Place the damp filters on a dish to dry completely (about 30 minutes).
  5. Create the Butterfly Shape: Fold two filters accordion-style and secure with a clothespin.
  6. Add Antennae (Optional): Cut pipe cleaners for antennae and attach them to the clothespin.
