Ingredients

  • White coffee filters
  • Washable markers or food coloring
  • Spray bottle with water
  • Black pipe cleaners
  • Scissors
  • Small containers or trays (for catching excess water)
  • Optional: Glitter or additional decorative items

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workstation: Clear a flat surface and lay down newspapers or a plastic cover to protect it from stains. Gather all materials.
  2. Color Your Coffee Filters: Use washable markers to draw designs on one side of the coffee filter, or use food coloring for a tie-dye effect.
  3. Spritz with Water: Lightly spray the colored filter with water to blend the colors.
  4. Create Butterfly Shape: Fold the wet filter in half and pinch the center with a black pipe cleaner.
  5. Shape the Wings: Adjust the edges to create a wing shape.
  6. Let Dry: Place on a tray or drying rack to dry completely.

Notes

Customize designs and experiment with larger or patterned filters for unique butterflies. Add gems or sequins for extra sparkle.
