Description

A fun and educational project combining art and food, featuring colorful coffee filter butterflies perfect for kids.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 coffee filters
  • 10 washable markers (various colors)
  • 1 spray bottle filled with water
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar (for the sugar glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon of corn syrup (for shine)
  • Optional: crushed candy or edible glitter for decoration

Instructions

  1. Lay a coffee filter flat on a surface and use washable markers to create colorful designs.
  2. Gently spray water on the filters until they are lightly damp.
  3. Let the filters dry completely.
  4. Pinch the center of each filter and twist to form the butterfly’s body and secure with a twist tie or pipe cleaner.
  5. In a bowl, mix the granulated sugar with corn syrup and a teaspoon of water until it reaches a thick but pourable consistency.
  6. Dip each butterfly in the glaze and sprinkle crushed candy or edible glitter if desired.

Notes

For best results, use non-toxic washable markers. These are naturally gluten-free.
