Ingredients

- 1 cup chia seeds
- 6 cups water
- Food coloring (optional)
- Large bin or container
- Measuring cups
- Containers for scooping and pouring (e.g., cups, spoons, or scoops)
- Optional: Natural items (e.g. leaves, small stones, or flowers)
Instructions
- Measure 1 cup of chia seeds and place them in a bowl.
- Add 6 cups of water, stirring gently. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the water before mixing.
- Cover the bowl and let the mixture sit for about 1-2 hours to hydrate the seeds.
- Transfer the hydrated chia seeds into a large bin or container.
- Add any natural items you’d like to include for extra sensory stimulation.
- Encourage children to scoop, pour, and explore the sensory bin.
Notes
Chia seeds can last for a few days in a sealed container in the refrigerator. Supervision is recommended for younger children to prevent choking hazards.
