Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon of baking soda (chalk)
- 2 tablespoons of white vinegar
- Small plastic film canister with a tight-fitting lid
- Tissue or paper towel (for wrapping)
- Safety goggles (optional, but recommended)
- Outdoor space for launching
Instructions
- Ensure your film canister is clean and dry with a tight-fitting lid.
- Measure 2 tablespoons of vinegar and pour it into the film canister.
- In a separate bowl, measure out 1 tablespoon of baking soda.
- Wrap the baking soda in a small piece of tissue or paper towel and drop it into the vinegar-filled canister quickly.
- Seal the canister with the lid tightly.
- Step back and watch as the mixture reacts and launches the rocket into the air!
Notes
Add food coloring to vinegar for a colorful display. Experiment with different amounts of baking soda or vinegar to see the effects on launch height. Always supervise children and use safety goggles for protection.
