Description

A fun DIY science project creating exciting pop rockets using common household items, perfect for all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda (chalk)
  • 2 tablespoons of white vinegar
  • Small plastic film canister with a tight-fitting lid
  • Tissue or paper towel (for wrapping)
  • Safety goggles (optional, but recommended)
  • Outdoor space for launching

Instructions

  1. Ensure your film canister is clean and dry with a tight-fitting lid.
  2. Measure 2 tablespoons of vinegar and pour it into the film canister.
  3. In a separate bowl, measure out 1 tablespoon of baking soda.
  4. Wrap the baking soda in a small piece of tissue or paper towel and drop it into the vinegar-filled canister quickly.
  5. Seal the canister with the lid tightly.
  6. Step back and watch as the mixture reacts and launches the rocket into the air!

Notes

Add food coloring to vinegar for a colorful display. Experiment with different amounts of baking soda or vinegar to see the effects on launch height. Always supervise children and use safety goggles for protection.
