Description
A delightful and eco-friendly craft project creating beautiful wind chimes from old CDs.
Ingredients
- Old CDs or DVDs
- Fishing line or twine
- Scissors
- Drill with a small drill bit or a heated nail
- Beads (optional)
- A small wooden dowel or branch
- Paint (optional for customization)
- Paintbrush (if using paint)
Instructions
- Prepare the CDs: Gather your old CDs and clean them with soap and water if necessary. Allow them to dry completely.
- Create Holes: Use a drill or heat a nail to poke a hole in the center of each CD, ensuring the hole is big enough for fishing line or twine.
- Cut Fishing Line: Cut several pieces of fishing line or twine in varying lengths; aim for lengths of 12 to 24 inches.
- Assemble the Chime: Thread a piece of fishing line through the hole in the CD, tying a knot. Repeat for all CDs. If using beads, add them between the CDs.
- Attach to the Doweling: Tie or glue the ends of the fishing line to a wooden dowel or branch, spacing out the CDs evenly.
- Finish and Hang: Tie a longer piece of fishing line at the center of the dowel for hanging and find a suitable place to hang your wind chime where the wind can gently move it.
Notes
Customize your CDs with paint or stickers for added flair. Use UV-resistant fishing line for longevity.
