Description
Create your own calming sensory bottle with simple materials, perfect for relaxation and mindfulness.
Ingredients
- Clear plastic bottle (preferably with a screw-on cap)
- Water
- Liquid food coloring (any color of your choice)
- Glitter, sequins, or small beads
- Glycerin or clear corn syrup (optional, for slower movement)
- Funnel (optional, for easy filling)
- Hot glue gun (optional, for sealing the bottle)
Instructions
- Prepare your bottle: Start with a clean and dry clear plastic bottle. If desired, remove any labels or stickers for a clear view of the contents.
- Add water: Using a funnel, fill the bottle about three-quarters full with water. Leave some space at the top for the remaining materials.
- Incorporate color: Add a few drops of liquid food coloring to the water. Swirl the bottle gently to mix in the color, adjusting the amount until you achieve your desired hue.
- Add sensory elements: Pour in your choice of glitter, sequins, or small beads. Watch them float and swirl as you add them for a visually captivating effect!
- Adjust the flow (optional): If you want the contents to move more slowly, add a tablespoon of glycerin or corn syrup to the mix. Swirl to combine, observing how the flow changes.
- Seal the bottle: Secure the cap tightly. For extra security, use a hot glue gun to seal around the cap to prevent leaks.
- Shake and enjoy: Shake the bottle to mix the contents, then place it somewhere accessible when you need a moment of calm.
Notes
Customize colors for holidays or themes. Be cautious with small items if making for young children.
