Description
Transform broken china into charming mosaic bird ornaments, recycling materials into unique decorative pieces for your home or garden.
Ingredients
- Broken china pieces (ceramic or porcelain)
- A bird ornament template (wood or cardboard)
- Strong adhesive (like E6000 or similar)
- Grout (non-sanded for finer details)
- Sponge or cloth
- Tile nippers (optional)
- Paintbrush for grout application
- Clear sealant (optional)
- Safety goggles (when handling sharp edges)
- Gloves (to protect hands)
Instructions
- Prepare Your Workspace: Clear a flat surface and cover it with newspaper or a protective drop cloth. Gather all your materials for easy access.
- Break Your China Pieces (If Needed): Safety First – Put on safety goggles and gloves. Use tile nippers to carefully break larger pieces into smaller, manageable sections.
- Arrange the Pieces: Lay out the broken china pieces on the bird template without adhesive. Play with colors and shapes until satisfied with the layout.
- Adhere the Pieces: Apply a small amount of strong adhesive to the back of each piece. Press and hold for a few seconds.
- Grouting: Once the adhesive is dry, prepare your grout according to package instructions. Use a paintbrush to apply grout in between the china pieces.
- Final Touches: Allow the grout to cure as per instructions. If desired, spray or paint a clear sealant for extra protection against the elements.
