Description
Make your own bouncy balls with this fun, simple craft that’s perfect for kids and adults alike. A great way to explore science and creativity!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon of glue (white or clear)
- 1 teaspoon of water
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of corn starch
- Food coloring (optional)
- Mixing bowl
- Spoon
- Plastic gloves (optional for cleanup)
Instructions
- Prepare your mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of glue with 1 teaspoon of water. Stir well until fully blended.
- Add color (optional): If you want a colorful bouncy ball, add a few drops of food coloring to the glue mixture. Use a spoon to mix it in thoroughly.
- Mix dry ingredients: In another small bowl, combine 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of corn starch.
- Combine the mixtures: Slowly add the dry ingredients to the glue mixture while stirring quickly. You’ll notice it starts to thicken and become more solid.
- Form the ball: Once the mixture holds together, use your hands (or plastic gloves) to knead it into a ball. Make sure it’s tightly packed to enhance its bouncing ability.
- Let it set: Allow your bouncy ball to rest for a few minutes. The more time you give it, the firmer it will become!
Notes
For a tie-dye effect, use multiple food colors. You can substitute glue with a clear silicone adhesive for a different texture. Adding glitter can enhance the look of your bouncy balls.
