Description

A fun and colorful DIY project that transforms simple pantry items into bouncy balls, perfect for engaging kids and enhancing sensory play.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of white glue (PVA)
  • 1/2 cup of cornstarch
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Small, round balloons
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Measuring cups
  • Baking tray

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the water, white glue, and cornstarch. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.
  2. Add baking soda and mix thoroughly.
  3. If using multiple colors, divide the mixture into separate bowls. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and stir until the colors are vibrant.
  4. Carefully stretch the opening of a balloon and pour in a spoonful of the colored mixture.
  5. Inflate the balloon gently to ensure the mixture spreads evenly.
  6. Tie the balloon securely once filled to your desired size.
  7. Place the filled balloons on a baking tray.
  8. Let them sit at room temperature for 24 hours or until fully dry.
  9. Once dry, pop the balloons and remove the leftover latex, revealing your bouncy balls!

Notes

Experiment with color combinations and add glitter for extra sparkle. Store finished balls in a cool, dry place.
