Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of water
- 3 tablespoons of borax
- A clean glass jar or bowl
- String or pipe cleaner (shaped into a fun design)
- Pencil or stick (to suspend the string)
- Food coloring (optional)
- Heat source (to boil water)
Instructions
- Boil water in a pot.
- Once boiling, add borax and stir continuously until dissolved.
- Add food coloring if desired and stir.
- Shape the string or pipe cleaner into a design.
- Tie one end of the string to a pencil or stick and suspend it in the borax solution.
- Place the jar in an undisturbed location for several hours or overnight.
- Carefully remove the string and allow the crystals to dry before displaying.
