- 2 cups boiling water
- Clear, heat-resistant container (like a glass jar)
- Pipe cleaner (in your choice of color)
- Pencil or stick (to hold the pipe cleaner)
- Optional: Food coloring (for colored crystals)
Instructions
- Prepare your pipe cleaner by bending it into the shape of a heart and twisting the ends together.
- Set up the container by filling it with 2 cups of boiling water.
- Add Borax gradually into the boiling water, ensuring it dissolves completely.
- If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the solution and mix well.
- Immerse the heart-shaped pipe cleaner in the solution, ensuring it’s submerged but not touching the bottom.
- Wait and watch as crystals form, leaving the container undisturbed for several hours or overnight.
- Remove the heart from the solution and place it on a paper towel to dry.
Notes
Feel free to experiment with different shapes and colors. For added sparkle, dip the finished crystals in glitter.
