Description

A whimsical craft project for creating stunning crystallized flowers using simple household materials.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of water
  • 3 tablespoons of Borax
  • Food coloring (your choice of colors)
  • Pipe cleaners (in desired flower shapes)
  • Glass jar or container
  • String (for hanging, if desired)

Instructions

  1. Shape the pipe cleaners into flower shapes.
  2. Attach a string if you want to hang the flowers.
  3. In a pot, bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
  4. Add 3 tablespoons of Borax to the boiling water and stir until completely dissolved.
  5. Add food coloring to achieve your desired color.
  6. Submerge the pipe cleaner flowers into the jar or container.
  7. Allow the container to sit undisturbed in a warm place for 24 hours.
  8. After 24 hours, gently remove the flowers and rinse them under cool water to remove excess Borax.

Notes

Experiment with different colors and shapes for unique styles. Store in a dry place away from humidity.
