Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup Borax
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • Assorted color pipe cleaners
  • Glass or clear plastic jar
  • Pencil or stick
  • Scissors
  • String (optional for hanging)
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Shape the pipe cleaners into flower forms, twisting and bending them together.
  2. Mix 1/2 cup of Borax with 2 cups of boiling water until dissolved.
  3. Tie your flower creation to a pencil or stick and lower it into the Borax solution.
  4. Leave the jar undisturbed in a cool location for 6-12 hours for crystal growth.
