Description

Ingredients

  • Borax powder
  • Pipe cleaners (variety of colors)
  • A heat-safe glass jar or container
  • Boiling water
  • String or fishing line (optional)
  • Pencil or chopstick
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Shape the pipe cleaners into flower shapes.
  2. Tie a piece of string around the base of the flowers.
  3. Boil water in a kettle or pot.
  4. Pour boiling water into your jar and add borax (¾ cup per cup of boiling water). Stir until dissolved.
  5. Add food coloring if desired.
  6. Use a pencil or chopstick to suspend the flowers in the borax solution.
  7. Place the jar in a safe area and leave it overnight or for 24 hours.
  8. Remove the flowers from the jar and rinse with water.
  9. Let them dry on a paper towel before displaying.
