Description

These Blueberry Buttermilk Biscuits are flaky, tender, and bursting with fresh blueberry flavor. Perfect for breakfast or as a delightful snack!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries (or frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (optional, for sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl: whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  3. Cut in the chilled, cubed butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the buttermilk, then gently fold in the blueberries. Mix until just combined; be careful not to over-mix.
  5. Shape the dough onto a floured surface. Lightly knead 2-3 times, patting into a rectangle about 1 inch thick. Cut out biscuits using a cutter or glass.
  6. Bake the biscuits on the prepared sheet. If desired, sprinkle with sugar on top. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

These biscuits can be customized with different fruits or spices. Serve warm with butter, honey, or jam.
