Ingredients
- Clean eggshells (white or brown)
- Blue food coloring or blue dye
- Water
- Clear sealant (mod podge or acrylic spray)
- Paintbrush or sponge applicator
- Bowl for mixing
- Paper towels or a drying rack
Instructions
- Clean the shells by rinsing gently under warm water and letting them dry completely.
- Crack the shells into large pieces (halves or chunks).
- In a bowl, mix water and blue food coloring to create your dye.
- Soak the clean eggshell pieces in the dye mixture for 10-15 minutes.
- Remove the shells with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to dry.
- Once dry, apply a clear sealant to protect the shells and enhance color.
- Let the sealant cure for around 24 hours as per product instructions.
Notes
Feel free to experiment with different colors and textures by mixing in glitter or using metallic paints. Ensure any sealants used outdoors are moisture resistant.
